Tonkotsu is coming to Cardiff
We’re getting ready to open our doors in Cardiff this March and we couldn’t be more excited to bring our ramen to the city.
If you’d like to be the first to hear about the restaurant and special offers (yes, there will be a free ramen involved), make sure you sign up to our newsletter here.
If you’re new to us, Tonkotsu first opened in Soho in 2012, founded by Ken Yamada and Emma Reynolds, who still run the business together today. From the very beginning, our goal has been simple: to bring real, honest ramen to London, and now to Cardiff. Not long after opening our first restaurant, Ken and Emma travelled to Japan. While they were there, an old ramen chef told them: “If you don’t make your own noodles, you’re just a soup shop.” We didn’t make our own noodles at first but as soon as we heard this in Tokyo, everything changed and the rest is history.
Today, we make our noodles fresh every day, alongside our broths, katsu curries, gyoza and sides, all made from scratch. We’re also proud to use great ingredients like Dingley Dell pork and free-range eggs.
We have a few more restaurants now, but for us it’s about the same thing as it always was, bringing you real ramen, and we have incredible team of people who love ramen just as much as we do who help to make that happen. We can’t wait to slurp with you soon!
